Meet Shamik Desai, DMD, MS
Board-Certified Harvard Graduate
Dr. Shamik Desai is an esteemed graduate of Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he fulfilled his specialist residency in orthodontics at Columbia University in New York City.
He then earned his board certification in orthodontics from the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Desai is passionate about creating smiles for children, teens, and adults. As a board-certified orthodontist, he has the knowledge and expertise necessary to provide individualized, compassionate care for patients of all ages.
Dr. Desai offers traditional orthodontic solutions using aesthetic and low-friction metal braces and is also a certified treatment provider of clear aligners.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Desai is passionate about organized dentistry and believes that collaborating with colleagues is key to providing the best care for his patients. By staying connected with the latest advancements in dentistry and orthodontics, he ensures that the treatment he offers is always informed by the most up-to-date knowledge and techniques. Dr. Desai has proudly served on the New Haven Dental Association Board for four consecutive years and is honored to serve as President for the 2025–2026 term, where he continues to give back to his profession and community.
Dr. Desai enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, hiking, snowboarding, and rooting for Philadelphia sports teams. Go Birds!
